Warm and Sticky

Dawn breaks over the midwest with the promise of a great day of racing ahead…. but that promise is hidden behind some clouds.

The sky at Autobahn is solid high clouds right now with virgually no wind.   The smokestacks in the distance who had their plumes nearly parallel to the ground yesterday are emitting straight up into the sky.  Thankfully its a rather cool morning, currently at about 74* outside… but the humidity has been climbing steadily!  Currently at 84%, and headed higher.  (Yesterday’s humidity at the end of the day was at about 46% by comparison)

The National Weather Service is calling for a 20% chance of thunderstorms in the area, and radar is showing  heavy rain  to the west and moving in.  A significant storm cell looks as if it will pass to the south, and we’ll miss any rain with this one.  However, another, larger wave is behind it that appears to stand more of a chance of making on us, right at about 4pm, when the Super Session is expected to kick off.  Its currently sitting southeast of Des Moines and headed this way.

Of course, we’ll keep you posted!
