Neck and Neck Battle

.052

Literally, the blink of an eye.

That is the difference in the fast times of the day for Tarzan Yamada and Mark Daddio.  As the track dried up and the drivers became more and more confident and familiar with the course the times fell.   Tarzan and the team from Crawford Performance got the car to sit nice and pretty at a 1:28.535 in the fourth practice session today, which was a 6 second improvement from the morning times.     At that point, Mark and the AMS Crew were not going to sit there and take that, and headed out to prove they were going to compete.  In the final sesssion (which Tarzan sat out) Mark turned the 1:28.587 which was also an improvement from the 1:31.8 from the morning sessions.

Speaking with Mark afterward, the team is down on power, and is suffering significant cooling issues which may not allow them to get a full run of three consecutive laps in.  But they’re going to try hard to challenge Crawford and not just wait and see what happens in Nashville next month.

Check RedlineTimeAttack.com after 8pm Pacific for the next edition of Redline Pre-Grid presented by Subaru… Special Guests include Mark Daddio and Chris Rado.
