Mama don’t let your babies grow up to be time attack drivers.

Its a stretch, I know… but when you’re in the heart of all things Country Music, you cannot help yourself.   Let me try another original.  I fell in to the burnin ring of lap times.  I went round, round round, and laps got faster… and those turns, turns, a new lap record…. a new lap record!.

Sorry Johnny Cash.  My bad.

Anyway, once again, a time attack team has taken an existing record, and destroyed it at a Redline Time Attack.   This week, thanks to Luke Russell and the team from Top Speed, Nashville Superspeedway’s old record for a “street car” has been tossed aside and forgotten.   The old SCCA record for a unibody car, not of a tube-frame, had been 1:04.095 (:58.9 appears to be the ultimate record in a Star Mazda).    Not anymore.

In the second session of the time attack, Russell managed to squeeze out a 1:03.702 from the Top Speed Subaru Impreza Brighton, earning himself first place in the unlimited all-wheel class, as well as the overall championship.

Your class winners:
